I had never bided on anything at a auction house until the other day at Fellows and was amazed to find it was as easy, if not easier, than bidding on my vintage finds on eBay and just as cheap!
I picked up three beautiful vintage Liberty of London printed scarves for just £40 and they where in great condition!!
I didn’t even have to be at the auction! I left a commission bid of £50 and they sorted everything for me. I also got them at a lower price as it didn’t reach my maximum bid!! Bargain!
You can also place your bids online and watch the live auction on the webcams or if you want to witness the auction first hand and wave your paddle in the air like you just don’t care, all are welcome at Fellows Auction House in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter.

Another show stopper at GFW was Claire Acton, whose surreal womenswear featuring dresses printed with faces layered under bright jackets forming ‘hair’ – a very clever take on fringing – and one that Elsa Schiaparelli would have been proud of!
Graduate Fashion Week wowed and amazed all with outstanding collections from graduates around the country, several of my friends also showcased their collections which made me extremely proud. The winner of the prestigious Gold Award however went to Chloe Jones, of Bath Spa University, who presented an amazing collection of floaty chiffon beautifully cut full-length skirts with chiffon parkas and chunky layered hoodies. ‘Very ethereal’ in the words of Daphne Guinness – we couldn’t have put it better ourselves.
